Do It Right - Executive Advisory Services

At Do It Right, we believe that the driving force behind any successful business is its management team. Leaders must drive short-term business performance, swiftly respond to the mandates of different constituencies and make quick decisions that have widespread impact. Concurrently, they need to be strategic thinkers, change-agents and pioneers to drive long-term growth. The lack of experienced professional managers, whether full-time or part-time, prevents companies from realizing their potential; and finding proven executives is one of the largest challenges for small to mid-sized companies.

DIR solves this problem by supplementing your existing management team with our successful team of professionals. Whether you face leadership, financial or operational challenges, our experienced and credentialed senior executives can quickly assume C-Level roles, providing the leadership and strategic decision-making ability to maintain momentum, establish corporate priorities, build morale and provide critical continuity. Oftentimes, this is in conjunction with our Business Advisory Services (link), as our specialized team of executives helps implement and execute your strategic plan.

Our C-level executives have served in the following roles:
• chief executive officer
• chief operating officer
• chief financial officer
• chief restructuring officer

If needed, the DIR Team also has the capability to provide additional resources as needed. As you will note in our biographies (link), you will feel comfortable knowing that the DIR Team has experience at the highest levels of business. More importantly, we work collaboratively with our clients, bringing innovative thinking, proven strategic frameworks, and strong facilitation and implementation skills to supplement your existing management team.

Situations to hire C-Leveled Executives
There are two common situations in which a company CEO, President or Board of Directors seeks interim executive help.
• The first is when a company has lost a key executive and needs someone to keep a division or function running until it finds exactly the right person to fill the position permanently. Many times a board member is conned into fulfilling this job on a temporary basis, but often they “don't want to do it," in which case the company abbreviates the crisis by doing a relatively quick search for a replacement-and does not find the best person.
• The second situation is when a company cannot justify hiring a full-time executive, but needs somebody on a part-time basis to achieve a specific goal. This often happens with early stage and small to mid-sized companies. The interim executive can lay the groundwork for someone within the company to take over later, or prepare the foundation for a full-time executive. The interim executive most likely has specific experience that is not available within the company. This allows the company to get the talent they need when they need it. And when they don’t, they “turn off the spigot”. Often times a company may think they need a full-time executive, but they only need part-time help. There are many advantages to this:
• Lower salary expense.
• C-Level experience, but at a greatly reduced cost and company only pays as they need the counsel.
• No recruiting costs to hire full-time person.
